Frequently asked questions about balayage
What is the difference between balayage and highlights?
With classic highlights the colour is applied evenly from the roots, using a cap or a comb. With balayage it is painted freehand, usually starting in the lengths. The transition looks softer, and the roots are less noticeable as the hair grows out.
Does balayage work on dark hair?
Yes. The Caramel & Honey look, for example, sets warm golden tones over brunette roots. How light your lengths can go depends on your hair. We sort that out in the consultation.
How often do I need to have the colour redone?
Because the roots grow out softly, you need fresh colour less often than with an all-over colour. We recommend a glossing treatment every five to eight weeks.
